Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

updated on Sep 28, 2026

This page contains two documents: the Privacy Policy, which explains how information is handled, and the Terms of Use, which govern your use of the app.

Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and who it is shared with when you use our iOS app "Brick Board" (the "App"), published by Lazycell Inc., a company established in California, United States ("we", "us").

By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Summary

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, contacts, photos, microphone or camera input, location, or health data. We do not access the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA), and the App does not ask for tracking permission.

Information Stored in Your iCloud Account

If you are signed in to iCloud, your collection, wishlist, and related records are stored in the App's private database in your own iCloud account using Apple CloudKit, so they stay in sync across your devices. This data belongs to your iCloud account; we cannot read it. You can delete it in your device settings (Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage).

Information Sent to Our Server

Pseudonymous Identifier

When the App starts, it signs in to our server at brickboard.lazycell.com with a pseudonymous identifier. If you are signed in to iCloud, this is the identifier Apple assigns to you for this App only (it does not reveal your Apple ID or email address). Otherwise it is the device identifier Apple provides to our apps (the "identifier for vendor"). Our server uses it to keep your data separate from other users' data.

Collection and Wishlist

The App sends our server the set numbers in your collection and wishlist, whether each set is owned or wanted, and the date you added it. We use this to back up your lists and to provide set details.

Searches and Set Data

Set searches and requests for set details, parts lists, and building instructions are sent to our server. As with any internet request, our server receives your IP address and standard request metadata. Set images and building instruction files are loaded from the addresses our server provides, some of which are hosted by third parties such as the LEGO Group.

Information Collected Automatically

Analytics

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used. Firebase Analytics assigns a pseudonymous app instance identifier and collects device and app information (device model, operating system version, language, country, app version) together with the events we send. These events include the searches you make (search terms and whether a result was found), sets you add to or remove from your lists, which features you open, and the approximate size of your collection and wishlist in ranges (for example "10-49"). We do not send your name, Apple ID, or any directly identifying value to our analytics provider.

Crash and Stability Reporting

The App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes and errors. A report contains diagnostic information such as the device model, operating system version, app version, and the technical state of the App at the moment of the error. It is used only to diagnose and fix defects.

Feedback by Email

If you send us feedback from the App, your mail app sends a message from your email address. We use the message and your address only to respond to you.

Links to Stores and Other Websites

The App links to third-party websites, such as online stores that sell a set. These pages open in an in-app Safari view and are governed by the privacy policies of those websites. We do not receive information about what you do there.

How We Use Information

Information described above is used to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Legal Bases (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract for providing set data and storing and synchronizing your lists; and legitimate interests for operating and securing the App, crash reporting, and analytics used to improve the App.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port information about you, to object to certain processing, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To make a request or ask a question, write to contact [at] lazycell.com. We may need information sufficient to locate the relevant records, such as the set numbers in your collection and approximate dates of use. We respond within the period required by applicable law.

Data Retention

Collection data on our server is kept while you use the App and deleted on request. Analytics and crash data are retained by our providers according to their retention settings. Server request logs are retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting. Data stored on your device is retained until you uninstall the App; iCloud data is retained by Apple until you delete it.

Children's Use of the App

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us at contact [at] lazycell.com and we will take steps to delete it.

Security

The App communicates with our server over encrypted HTTPS connections, and iCloud data is protected by the security of your Apple account. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Transfers

The App is available worldwide, and our service providers operate globally. Information described in this policy may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, as implemented by the providers named above.

Third-Party Privacy Policies

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App changes. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new revision date. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the revised policy.

License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Restrictions

You agree not to: reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it; use automated tools to extract, scrape, or redistribute the App's data; interfere with our servers; or use the App in any way that violates applicable law or the rules of the App Store.

Set Data and Accuracy

Set details, parts lists, prices, and building instructions are provided for reference only. They may be incomplete or out of date, and we do not guarantee their accuracy. Where accuracy matters to you, check the official source.

Trademarks and Intellectual Property

LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies, which does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse this App. Other product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

The App, including its software, design, and user interface, is owned by Lazycell Inc. and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Third-Party Websites

Links to stores and other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or for transactions between you and them.

Availability and Changes

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App, including online set data and backup, at any time and without liability. We do not guarantee that the App will be available uninterrupted or error-free, or that your data will always be recoverable; iCloud sync depends on services operated by Apple.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App is free of errors or that defects will be corrected. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lazycell Inc. and its officers, employees, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim, or ten United States dollars. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Apple

These terms are between you and Lazycell Inc. only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them against you. Your use of the App must also comply with the App Store terms of service.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new revision date, and continuing to use the App after it takes effect means you accept the revision.

Governing Law and Venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and Lazycell Inc. agree that the state and federal courts located in California shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the App.

If you are a consumer, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country or state of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings in the courts of that place where applicable law gives you that right.

General

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy above, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
